At their essence, vodka, gin and other fine distilled spirits are the result of the product you begin with and of the process you employ. At Napa Valley Craft Distillery, we have set out to establish new standards for both. We begin with grapes grown in the place known for producing some of the world’s most famous wines. This region of Northern California is geographically blessed with the soil and microclimate that allows production of the legendary Napa Valley grapes.

It simply wasn’t going to be good enough to create small batch spirits from scratch. Napa Valley Craft Distillery owner Robert Contreras set out to control each step of the distillation process, and that included building our own stills, from scratch. It meant choosing the right tanks and the right connectors, using the best instrumentation, pumps and agitators, and doing all of our own welding. And for the items that require artisan vendors, like glass columns, our search for the right partners was exhaustive. The result is a distillery that was purpose-built, from the drains up, to produce the quality spirits we want, exactly the way we want to.

At Napa Valley Craft Distillery, we like to say “Buy local, think local, drink local.” The vineyards that grow the grapes we use in distillation are 20 minutes away. The artisans that make glass columns for our stills are 20 miles away, as the crow flies. The cooperage that makes the barrels that will age our whiskey, bourbon, rye and rum is two blocks away.

We hope you will join us on our quest to produce high quality, small batch spirits, using locally sourced ingredients AND materials, and partner vendors that are our neighbors.
